SKINNER CATALOGUE:
A very fine native hunting spear from Northern Rhodesia, South Africa. The head, of wrought iron forged in the native charcoal fires, tapers very gradually to a blunt point, is sharpened on both edges, and at the base tapers abruptly to a shaft which drives into a short wooden handle. The head end of the handle is tightly wound with leather tape for 5 1/8"; the base end is squared off. Head:11 3/4" x 1 11/32". Cat. 6/3/1937.
