SKINNER CATALOGUE: An old apple barrel press, consisting of two cross pieces with a heavy wooden screw and two iron rods, hooked at the end to catch under the barrel. Used to press down apples packed in a barrel so that as they shrunk they would not work loose and be bruised in shipping. Screw 27 3/4" x 2 1/4". Rods 40". Cat. 1/11/1935.
