Wooden chest decorated with black floral patterns. Held at all of the corners with iron brackets. It has a single handle on top, and three places for locks along the front. Lined inside with a blue and floral patterned fabric. It contains a thick-handled snuffer, a brass tray, a brass cylinder, and several loose pins.

Label Text:
Deeply influence by Mary Lyon, Fidelia Fiske founded a female seminary in Persia (Iran). This box was likely used in her travels, and contained letters and writing materials in addition to other small provisions used in everyday life in the nineteenth century.
