From the exhibtion Jane Hammond, Digital and Analog, February 1 - May 29, 2022
A dizzying assortment of geometric images float within a deep frame. Although each small shape is flat, Hammond has constructed this intricate collage in high relief, with some images protruding more than others. As in much of her work, the viewer’s eyes can never rest as it is compelled to move from one image to the next.

For Results of a Search (Cameo), Hammond turned to the internet and conducted searches on a mathematical theme, resulting in a plethora of geometric shapes as well as unrelated random images, such as a cameo (which appears near the bottom left). After rendering her countless search results by hand in ink and silver leaf, she collaged them onto a three dimensional armature made with the plastic tubes of Q-tips and aluminum wire.
