Description:
Scene from Ovid's Metamorphoses. Numerous nude male figures (the Titans) tumble off of a rocky summit while Zeus wields his lightening bolts accompanied by an eagle at upper center and personifications of the winds blow from the clouds. Inscriptions at upper left and right reference Claudian's Gigantomachia.
