Cracked and chalky painted surface with a blue circle with yellow and white details on a pale white and blue background. Framed in a wooden frame with green painted sides and gilded inner edge with a linen liner and white wood fillet. Back has a mottled blue backing board with grid of yellow chalk lines and masking tape covering the edges. A brown paper label with text “THE MOON” is mounted at center, and a second is at right, rotated 90 degrees. Below each is a black and white image of a boy with a hat and dark clothing. A paper label is affixed at lower center, with printed text “(1811)”. Two fragments of French text are affixed at lower right and left.
