Description:
A reproduction of the originally triptych design of the story of Ushiwakamaru (Minamoto Yoshitsune), the young man in a green-and-red garment to the very left, serenading Joruri Hime (Lady Joruri) by flute. Lady Joruri is standing in white-and-red kimono on the veranda of a house to the right. Eight other servents or relatively lower-status women with lanterns in various lavish kimono are passing the message from Ushiwakamaru to the Lady. Another servent sitting behind the Lady serving tea. Originally published by Nishimuraya Yohachi (Eijudo). MH 1973.362.Q.RII is another design of the same story.
