Description:
The painting is a tondo set off by a rim of wood in relief, set in a square frame. Christ faces the viewer in 2 1/2 length portrait before a gilded ground. In his left hand he holds a red and black banner. With his right hand he points to an opening in his tunic, a bleeding wound. On each hand a wound bleeds. His white tunic and mantle and bordered with gilding. On each hand a wound bleeds. A gilded halo w/large jewels (painted on it) encircle his head. The corners created by tondo are decoratively filled w/red paisley and gilding. Note: sections of the frame are original.
