Description: The entire object is covered in dark red paint and added black ornamentation. The trefoil lip is edged in black. The handle rises from the lip and attaches at the lower shoulder; stripes of black are framed by black vertical bands following the edge of the handle. Between a narrow band of black at the neck and an area of narrow black concentric bands framed by two larger black bands on the upper portion of the body are six small bull's eye ornaments on the shoulder; note the compass mark left in the center of each ornament. The lower body and foot are covered in red paint only; attached to the underside of the foot is a paper label with the following inscription: Red painted geometric ware; Early Iron Age ca. 1,000-500 B.C.
