Description:
ca. late 19th or early 20th century plaster cast of a marble original dating to the Classical Period, ca. 380 BCE. This relief was found at Epidauros, Greece, the site of a sanctuary for the cult of Asklepios, god of healing and health. It depicts a seated Asklepios with his left arm bent and hand outstretched. The original relief after which this cast is made is located at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, Greece.
