Description: English pearlware coffeepot and lid, decorated with a transfer print in blue. The lid has a pointed knob, over a domed lid with a border of a quadrille-type pattern. The baluster-shaped body has a molded rim edge painted reddish-brown; over a border of a quadrille-type pattern; and the sides decorated with a chinoiserie scene with a pagoda, garden house, bridge, and trees, including evergreens and a large willow. The pot has a plain, C-shaped handle; a curved spout decorated with blue floral sprays; a flared base with an incised line between the body and base; and a molded flat foot. The rim of the lid is painted in a yellow ochre color to similate the edge of Chinese export porcelain vessels.
