Description: Small blown aqua-colored bowl with a molded rim, shaped sides, flat base, and large pontil mark, attributed to the Redwood Glass Works. This operation was opened by John S. Foster in 1833, who had been had been first the superindendent of the Champlain Glass Works in Burlington, Vermont, since when it opened in 1827; and then the Redford Glass Works in 1832 where Foster was an owner. Foster died in 1835, but the factory continued under a series of ownerships
