Description: Tall case clock with cherry case and 8-day movement. Labeled inside front door: "PELATIAH BLISS,/A few rods north of Z.& T. Stebbins' Store/Springfield;Ms./CARRIES ON THE/Cabinet Business,/IN ITS VARIOUS BRANCHES" Other labeled objects made by Bliss include an inlaid card table acquired by the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum in 1973 but since deaccessioned (current whereabouts unknown), a chest of drawers owned in 1930 by a Mrs. Frederick A.C. Baker of Maplewood, NJ (published in Antiques February 1930), and a swing-leg card table with a partial label in the collection of the Springfield Museums (CVHM-79.1).
