The occupation forces requisitioned the Hattori Watchtower Building at the main intersection of the Ginza to serve as the PX for the occupation forces in Tokyo. American goods were on display in the store windows of nearby department stores such as Matsuya as well, but most were out of reach of the average Japanese citizen.
