Label Text:
Teoli describes himself as a self-taught photographer. He started taking pictures in the 1970s, capturing people and street life in Los Angeles and Hollywood. Of the man in "The Fashion Statement" the artist says: “He had worked in the fashion industry in NYC before becoming homeless. He said his pants were made from old drapes. He folded up the jacket he is leaning on to keep the outside clean. He was homeless, but still had dignity.”
