Description:
"Thomas Holt," attributed to Hugh Tolford (w. 1770-1772), Chester, New Hampshire. This is the fourth Hugh Tolford horn known. This horn is quite similar to the Tilton Bennet horn with the almost identical coat-of-arms. Unlike the other Tolford horns, this one displays a ship with a whimsicla crew and the British Union Jack. There are many animals and birds, as well as the turtle with a snake in its jaws that is a Tolford trademark.
