Description: Circular, Chinese-shape pearlware cup with deep curving sides and applied footrim, the cup is transfer printed in underglaze cobalt blue, the design on the interior of the cup features a multi flower border with a small spray of flowers at the bottom of the cup; on the exterior it features two separate reserves of storks or cranes and a kingfisher, near a large lake, windmill and castle in the distance, the reserves are interspersed with printed flowers, a printed mark in underglaze blue "2" is on the reverse of the saucer. The pattern is called by the Transferware Collectors Database the "Heron and Kingfisher" pattern. The large birds resemble members of the Heron family and the smaller bird is a kingfisher. So far the pattern name is unrecorded, so it has been given a TCC assigned name. Condition: Excellent condition with an initial manufacturing flaw, gouges inside the cup's bowl. Perhaps caused from kiln furniture? there is also a small hole in the base of the cup.
