Description:
One of six silver spoons (HD 2001.53.133-.138) with a pointed oval bowl, pointed shoulders, and fiddle handle stamped with a sheaf of wheat and sickle on the front tip, which is marked "Joseph T Rice" in a rectangle on the back of the handle, and engraved with the initials "HP" in script on the front of the handle. Joseph Rice (1787-1854) was listed in Albany directories as a watchmaker and jeweler from 1813-1853.
