Description:
Ribbon candy is now mostly associated with Christmastime, but used to be a favorite treat at all times of the year. once flattened into long strips, the candy would be sent through the teeth of the crimper before it had a chance to harden, creating the shape that led to its namesake.

Label Text:
SKINNER CATALOGUE: An old wooden crimper for shaping ribbon candy. The candy, while still soft, was fed up the trough and between the two loosely meshing cogs- 8 teeth [with 8 teeth] -diam. 6 7/8" Board - length 21 1/2". A small sheet of associated paper reads: "Christmas candy crimping machine presented by Mr. Archie Marois." Cat. 9/5/1935
