Description:
Chinese export porcelain ovoid-shaped waste bowl in blue, iron red, black, and gilding. Inside rim blue overglaze band with gilt stars. Outside lip blue and gilt trail outlined in iron red enamel. Center decoration has pseudo-armorial with faux ermine lined shield containing iron red initials "JAC" or "JAG". Typical of pseudo armorial devices popular for export to North American at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Matches decoration on 60.275.
