Description:
Klickitat baskets are woven from thick red cedar roots, a mold-resistant material. Baskets such as this one (featuring a "looped" rim and imbricated geometric patterns only woven on the outside of the basket) were used for huckleberry gathering and drying. The decoration might consist of dyed cedar roots or a different material altogether. AP2018
