Description:
stoneware clay with abundant natural ash glaze and topped by ivory lid, string-cut base with three marks of shells used to support piece during firing

Label Text:
This tea caddy comes with Kikashibu-striped paper cover for box, new kiri box with brown cord, box lid obverse inscribed "Shigaraki / chaire", lid reverse inscribed "seimei [red seal 'Seimei'], Shifuku of new satin-weave silk brocade (donsu), with green ground with quatrefoil lozenges on broken diamond-lattice ground, and purple cord.
