Description:
Woman's two/three piece dress of tan silk faille, consisting of bodice, skirt, and piece of material that is a matching color, but not the same fabric. The bodice has a high collar, and is of a basque style. There are four pleats at the waist on each side of center front and back. There is glass pearl and grey beaded trim on waist, at bottom around hem. The long sleeves are puffed at shoulders, and the turned back cuffs have matching bead decoration. Bodice closes center front, with hook and eye closure. The bodice is lined in a brown cotton, with thirteen metal bones front and back. There is a cotton waistline band with hook and eye closure as well. The matching skirt in the same material is gored, with fullness aided by pleats at the center back closure. Entire skirt is lined in same color cotton as bodice. There is an additional lining of wool, graduating from 1.0-12.0" around bottom. There is a pleated ruffle of crinoline and lace, to form a dust ruffle, around skirt hem. Entire skirt stiffened with heavy crinoline. The third piece measures 8 2/3" x 153 3/4", and was made on a narrow loom like ribbon.
