Description:
Woman's two piece polychrome plaid dress, including blue green, royal and navy blues, cream and red colors. The bodice has center back closure with hook and eye closures. The front of the bodice has a square cut neckline with same fabric trim 7/8" wide which extends below the neckline on each side of front, 2.0" These extensions each end in a point covered with one red button. Down the center front are three groupings of six red buttons, as well as vertical knife pleats 2.0" apart which extend around entire bodice. Sleeves are short and open at the top, joined by three 1.0" bands across (near armscyes). It is likely the wearer would have worn sleeve attachments or an underblouse that covered the arms more than the fashion garment does. The edge of each sleeve at the open tops is folded over 1 1/2" and held in place by three matching red decorative buttons. The bodice ends in a center front point, and is straight across in the back. Three rows of self fabric trim the bottom. The bodice is lined in black cotton. There is heavy boning, approx. 13, all around bodice. The skirt has knife pleats that are top stitched. Center back opening with hook and eye closure, and a placket 11 3/8" deep. Skirt is not lined and there is 3/4" wide tape at inside hem.
