Trunk with "Hubbard & Lyman ..." label pasted onto interior, reads: "HUBBARD & LYMAN/ MANUFACTURERS OF/ SADDLES HARNESSES COLLARS/ TRUNKS/ Valices, Travelling Bags, and Ladies Dress Boxes/ ONE DOOR NORTH OF THE SPRINGFIELD HOTEL/ Springfield, Mass./ ALL TRUNKS at Wholesale and Retail, " probably belonged to Miss Baker's mother" - Miss C. Alice Baker (1833-1909). The daybook for Hubbard & Lyman is owned in the Special Collections & University Archives of the W.E.B. DuBois Library of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
