Description:
Steel engraving of Seth Catlin (1812-1864) dressed in a dark suit with high collar and tie, and "Munsell & Co. NY & Chicago" is written in small print under the portrait. A cousin of Miss C. Alice Baker (1833-1909), Catlin was born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, the son of Richard Catlin (1773-1852) and Charlotte Stebbins (1780-1855). who moved to Chicago where he became Secretary of the Board of Trade. .
