Description:
Chippendale dressing table in cherry, yellow-poplar, red oak, birch, and red pine. The table has a single-arch molded flat top over a straight-sided body. There is a long molded top drawer over three short molded drawers, with an outlined triple-ray shell on the center short drawer with scale-like detail on the bottom two rays; the brasses are original. The skirt has flat headed arches, which are chamfered to relieve the edges, and two drop pendants. The knees have raised C-scrolls on the inner, upper edge of the bracket, and the two front knees are carved with a stylized vine, which is repeated in the center of the shell. The cabriole legs end in ball-and-claw feet. The drawer sides are red oak, the drawer backs and bottoms are yellow-poplar, and the drawer fronts are cherry.
