Description:
Doll's bed with an arched canopy and four pencil posts, which was dressed by Margery Howe in 1963. Howe wrote on the back of a small black and white photograph of the bed (in data file): "Flynt's doll's bed now in Allen House. I used old crewel for coverlet. Put dust skirt on with flour paste in the old way - now fastened with thumb tacks [probably done by Maude E. Banta c. 1970]. Canopy and skirt of old hand-woven linen. M.H." The bed's crewel embroidered coverlet was made from the Indian crewel embroidered, cotton coverlet (HD 1064.2), from which other pieces were also used for six chair seats (HD 1190.1-.6) and a stool seat (HD 53.032).
