Description:
One of an assembled set of 22 postcards depicting the town of Deerfield. Black and white photograph of the memorial to Joseph Barnard, Godfrey Nims, Henry White and Philip Matton. In lower left hand corner is the number 85. Handwritten on the back "DEERFIELD / MASS. [then typed on the back] Philip Mattoon, brother of/ our great-great-great grand-/mother Sarah Mattoon who/ married Zecheriah[sic] Field &/ was carried captive to Can-/ada at the sacking of Deerfie/ld."Printed in light black ink on the reverse of the card is "POST CARD" and "place stamp here", "correspondence" and "address."
