Description:
One of a pair of English creamware figurines that is the companion to the female vintner (HD 2006.33.103.2), this one of a male vintner modeled as a youth dressed as in a jacket, waistcoat, and breeches, holding out a mug of wine with his right arm. He is sitting astride a wine barrel that has molded grape leaves with two bunches of grapes on one end of the barrel and one bunch of grapes on the other end; the barrel is set on a tree stump that sits on a circular base with a center molded shell flanked by rococo scrolls. The figurine has a glazed, hollow base.
