Description:
Photograph depicting the side yard of a farmhouse. Two men, two women, one boy ,a dog, and a horse and cart. "Northern Survey Co., Albany New York stamped along bottom edge. Mounted on cardboard. "186 W C Trask" written in pencil on back upper left corner.This item, along with two other photographs (2012.47.3 and .5) and quilt (2012.47.2) were found in a trunk owned by Lucy C. McCloud (2006.34.4). Lucy McCloud (b. 1862 in Hadley - d.1948 in Northampton) lived in the late 19th and early 20th-century and was a lawyer, a clerk in the Registry of Deeds in Northampton, as well as the assistant registrar of deeds. 1884 Graduate of Smith College, teacher at the Glenwood Seminary in West Brattleboro, VT (1885-86) substitute teacher at Smith Academy and Hatfield summer of 1895, Sprague Correspondence School of Law, 1900-05, passed MA Bar, 1905, lived on 10 Madison Ave. and 186 South St. in Northampton.
