Description:
Set of six silver teaspoons with pointed oval bowls, elongated shoulders at the junctures, and fiddle-end handles with a sheaf-of-wheat pattern in relief on the tip, which are marked "B&I" in a rectangle on the back of the handles for Gerardus Boyce (1795/96-1880) and Elisha Jones who worked together in NYC from about 1825 to 1829, and engraved with the initials "RCH" in sprigged script on the front of the handles. Flatware in the sheaf-of-wheat pattern was made in many urban areas in the 1820s and 1830s, but seems to have been very popular in NYC.
