Description:
Hand-colored print titled "The Raw Meat System or Gentlemen in training for Pedestrian Excercies" depiciting a scene in a butcher shop. The butcher feeds one seated man a piece of meat as the other seated man watches while stretching out his arms for a piece and being held back by the butcher, and three hungry dogs watch. The butcher says "Come No Grumbleing, One at / a time Gentlemen if you please." and his assistant on the right says "Zounds don't feed them so / fast, you'll choak them." There is a boy and his dog watching from the doorway on the left, and a window on the right where raw meat is hanging from a beam. This print was first published by Piercy Roberts (w. 1791-1805), 28 Middle Row, Holburn, London, in 1800. The print is maked "No. VII" in the upper right corner.
