Description:
Chinese export porcelain deep round saucer decorated in blue, rose, brown, iron red, black, green, and gilding with mandarin-style decoration of the latter part of the 18th century. This saucer is related to but not an exact figural match to the coffee cup, HD 63.32. 1 - probably from the same set. The center scene has three women, one holding a fan and a young boy in outdoor pavillion with tree (cherry?) and a pagoda roof, door, and blue garden seat, and water in background with mountain views and pink trees. The curature has a brown diaper band interrupted by quatrefoil and cloud cartouches alternating bird decoration and iron red camieu Chinese landscapes; the rim has gilt foliate band interrupted by brown and iron red scenes in cloud medallions.
