Description:
Woman's black or navy blue straw hat. Loose type of straw braid, sewn in a spriral formation, edges are not tacked down, so the overall texture is shaggy. Crown is 3.25" tall, 6.25" wide, spiral braid; shaped curves in in middle, concave top. Brim is 3" wide in front, 4" sides, 4.5" back, constructed of 5-6 rows of braid and has wired edge. Large 4 lobed, wired bow on back of hat is 7" velvet, velvet rose of same color underneath bow. Brim is lined underneath with black silk chiffon, gathered in concentric circles (texture reminiscent of art nouveau). Crown is neatly lined in black silk, draw string to tighten fit. Label inside crown "Shepperd, New York."
