Description:
This stained glass pane contains a rectangular panel framed in thick black. Inside the panel, a young man rides a brown horse that appears to be bucking or mid-gallop. The man has shoulder-length blond hair and wears a black tricorn hat, along with a long blue 18th-century buttoned coat and matching blue breeches. He sits on a yellow saddle and holds black reins in one hand, and a black riding whip in the other. His black boots rest in gold stirrups, and behind him is a translucent greenish background. Beneath this is a rectangular panel, with black Gothic writing, most likely of a name. These two panels are inlaid into a larger shield-shaped glass panel, also translucent and with thick black lines surrounding it and running through it. In the top rectangle of this shield, the translucent background is alternated with transparent glass, to imitate the turrets of a castle. (Naomi Meyer '27)
