Description:
The mostly nude figure of Saint Bartholomew, wearing only a cloth around his groin, is bound with his arms outstretched to a cross-shaped plank at center. A helmeted figure holds his feet at bottom left, while two other men flay his stomach and proper left arm. A crowd of soldiers and bystanders surround him. An arched gateway, fence, and building are in the near background, and two putti holding Saxon shields sit upon the gateway in the upper left.
