Description:
One of a pair of silver salts marked "J. COBURN in rectangle for John Coburn (1724-1803) once on the base of the rounded body with a molded rim and supported on three cast legs terminating in pad feet, which has the unidentified crest of a bird rising from a ducal coronet engraved on the side. The interiors are gilded to protect the silver from direct contact with the salt.
