Description:
One of two silver tablespoons (see HD 1998.7.46) with an elliptical bowl and deep slashed rounded drop; thick hemispherical shaft tapered to an upturned rounded-end handle; and short midrib on front of handle, which is marked "NV" in a rectangle twice for Nicholas Van Rensselaer, and engraved with the initials "T*Y" on the back of the handle.
