Description:
Silver tablespoon with an elliptical bowl and a rounded drop over an eight-lobed palmette shell; straight hemispherical shaft tapering to a wide upturned spatulate-end handle; and short midrib on the front of the handle. The spoon is marked "HOPKINS" in script within an oval on back of handle for Joseph W. Hopkins (1730-1801).
