Description:
Chinese export porcelain sauce tureen (with stand, HD 1967.2) with two molded rabbit or hare-head handles, cover with a molded rococo stem-like finial, and stand, decorated with floral sprays in the Famille rose palette in pink, purple, green, yellow, turquoise, orange, and gilding. This is an example of a Western form, probably based on European silver designs, adapted in Chinese porcelain.
