Description:
Chippendale card table probably made by John Goddard. The table has a plain, serpentine-shaped top with no depressions for money pockets or candlesticks; over a serpentine-shaped apron; over flattened leafy scroll carving on the knees of the cabriole legs that end in ball and claw feet in front and pad feet in the back. the undercut talon on the front feet and carving style are typical features of Newport in the mid eighteenth century.
