Description:
Petticoat made of a vibrant yellow, plain-weave, lightweight silk (lutestring or lustring) and decorated around the hem with an embroidered floral swag motif with floral bouquets tied up with ribbon. In its curernt state, the garment was altered (probably from an earlier 1750s petticoat).
