Description:
High post bedstead with a flat tester. The turned pencil point posts and legs have been refinished; the back post have ring turnings near the top. According to Williams family tradition, the bed was owned by Dr. Thomas Williams (1718-1775); however, since the style appears to be more 1820-1830, it may have been owned by Thomas Williams' grandson, Dr. Stephen West Williams (1790-1855) who married Harriet Goodhue in 1818.
