Description:
Two quilted, linen petticoat bands decorated with polychrome, wool crewel embroidery with alternating fruit trees and plants growing from hillocks, which are similar to examples in the MFA Boston where thiis "mound" aspect of the embroidered trees sitting on small hills may be characteristic of Boston work. One of the MFA's examples has a 1714 date, which may not be appropriate for this example.
