Description:
early Louis XV style, gold enameled in translucent blue on a basse taille ground (engraved wavy lines); inset oval plaquette with enameled miniature (woman in classical costume with antique urn in pastoral setting); tooled borders with relief urns, leaves, and "pearls" inlaid with translucent enamels;
appraisal on file by John LaMarre (1958) notes the mark of the Fermier-General (tax collector) Jean Prevost
