Description:
two panels of triptych; nishiki-e; bijinga; vertical ōban format

Label Text:
Both panels are signed "Toyokuni ga" in red toshidama cartouches at lower-right. Above the cartouche on the left panel is the circular 'aratame' censor's seal, which is present in the opposing panel immediately to the right of the signature. The publisher's seal, which reads "Sanoki," represents the publisher Sanoya Kihei, then of the firm Kikakudō, is present on both panels at lower-left in the rectangular cartouches. Above the publisher's seals in both panels are the circular date seals, which indicate that these were printed in the second month of 1855 (Ansei 2).
