Label Text:
Text provided by the Photographic Resource Center at the time of the touring exhibition "New Works by Ten Massachusetts Photographers" in 1982: "Daniel Ranalli is a photographer who works primarily without a camera. His abstract work consists of large split-toned "light-drawings" or photograms made directly on light-sensitive photographic paper. Ranalli's interst in "light drawings" stems from their accidential and random effects, their high degree of ambiguity and the subjective meanings that the viewer can bring to the image. He recieved an NEA Visual Arts Fellowship in Photography. Ranalli was formerly the Direcor of the Artist-in-Residence program for the Artists Foundation, and was formerly Director for the Truro Center of the Arts in Truro, Massachusetts.
