Label Text:
Text provided by the Photographic Resource Center at the time of the touring exhibition "New Works by Ten Massachusetts Photographers" in 1982: "Olivia Parker's photographic still lifes are assembled from an intricate combination of artifacts and ephemera. Her split-toned black & white prints yield a warm-cool color relationship which contributes to combining the disparate assembled objects. Parker's photographs are still lifes--"natures mortes", an art form of death, of transformation, and of life. She recieved a Massachusetts Artists Fellowship in Photography. A monograph on her work, "Signs of life", was published by David R. Godine. Two portfolios of her work, entitled "Ephemera" and "Lost Objects", have been published."
