Label Text:
Text provided by the Photographic Resource Center at the time of the touring exhibition "New Works by Ten Massachusetts Photographers" in 1982: "Steven Halpern is a photographer who makes two- and three-dimensional constructions of natural materials and found objects specifially to be photographed. His work is an attempt to take photography away from its classic stance as a recorder of visual reality, and he has been influenced by painting, fabric desgin, quilts, handicrafts and decorative arts. By profession, Halpern is a scientific phtographer on the staff of the New England Medical Center."
